The Hive Collaborative is auditioning for THE TEN SHOW, an online series originating from our theater in Provo, Utah. The Ten Show is designed to be a celebration of the entire playmaking process, from script selection to casting, from rehearsals to performance, from budgeting to putting butts in the seats. In this case, it will all be centered around the 10-minute play art form as 10 producers work with a given budget and compete to advance to subsequent rounds.
We are seeking talent to perform as producers, directors, and actors. Producers do not need to have producing experience, but experience in the theater, whether on the acting side or crew side, is a plus.
Production is scheduled to start 10/14/2019 and run through 11/23/2019 (except dark the week of Halloween and the week beginning 11/11/2019). Producers would need to be available for three of those weeks. Directors and actors only need to be available for at least one of those weeks.
At this stage, auditions are available by appointment. Please complete the form at the bottom of this page here
What to Prepare
Please prepare one or two 1-minute monologues showing a contrasting range of styles (e.g., one comedic, one serious). Also, please complete the form at the bottom of this page here.
Is the BYU v. UVU Edition of This Really Happening?
Maybe. We’re seeking five current or former students from each school to participate as producers in this friendly competition. If you attended neither, feel free to audition as well. It’s a big tent.
We have more details about the how the show works here. Also, it has that form at the bottom that we were hoping you’d fill out before you come, but you can fill it out when you get here if you prefer.
If you have any questions or want to schedule an appointment during the audition window, please email hivecastingoffice (at) gmail (dot) com and give us a date and time range that works for you and we will do our best to accommodate you. We’ll reply with a time as close as we can to your requested timeframe. Or you’re welcome to walk-in and take the next available slot. We’re friendly like that.
Let’s do something cool together.
